Biography
Mrs. Howard Steimel, 70, life-long resident Suttons Bay, died Monday evening at Leelanau Memorial hospital at Northport following an illness of several years. Nellie Marie Steimel was born September 19, 1888, at Suttons Bay, daughter of Ole Borgerson and Karen Christianson. Surviving besides her husband are one son, Ralph Steimel of Suttons Bay; one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Zeilman, of Whitmore Lake; three sisters, Mrs. George Shumsky and Miss Ingor Borgerson of Suttons Bay, and Mrs. Geral Kalkstine of Muskegon; two brothers, Oscar Borgerson of Battle Creek and Norwald Borgerso of Ypsilanti; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. The rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 8:00 at the Martinson & Son funeral home in Suttons Bay. Funeral services held Friday morning at St. Michael's church with Father Charles D. Baker officiating. Burial in St. Michael' cemetery.[1]
