David Borland was born in Scotland.

David, son of Alexander Borland and Isable Martin, was born on 4 June 1803 and baptised on 13 June 1803 at Low Church, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland.^[1]

David married Jean McEwing on 5 June 1847 at Low Church, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland.^[2]

In the 1851 census David (age 47), Lanety Officer, was the head of household at 15 Storie Street Back House, Paisley High Church, Renfrewshire.^[3] David Borland 47, wife Jean Borland 44, son Alex Borland 17, son Samuel Borland 15, son David Borland 14, daughter Isabella Borland 9, son Thomas Borland 10 Mo.

In the 1861 census David (age 57), Silk Weaver, was the head of household at 15 Storie Street, Paisley High Church, Renfrewshire.^[4]

In the 1881 census David (age 78), Plain Weaver, was the head of household at 9 Canal St, Paisley Low Church, Renfrewshire.^[5]

David's death (age 81) was registered in 1884 in the Paisley district.^[6]
