Ernst Wilhelm Eduard BORMANN was born on the 29th April 1829. He was baptised the son of Gottfried Bormann and Christiane Minke on the 13th May 1829 at Meseritz, Posen, Preußen.[1][2][3]
He appears to have used the names Eduard Karl and Carl Edward throughout life.
The family lived in Meseritz, Posen, Prussia.
Carl's father registered to emigrate in 1839 with his wife and five children: "shoemaker Johann Gottfried Borrmann (45) with wife Johanne Christiane Wikhelmine Minke and five children"[4][5]
The Bormann family departed Altona on the 3rd July and arrived at Port Adelaide on the 5th November 1841 aboard the Skjold.
Eduard BORMANN was naturalised on the 30th August 1851. He was listed as a farmer in Lobethal, from Prussia, 22 years old, and having been resident in South Australia for ten years.[6]
Eduard Karl BORMANN marries Wilhelmina HOFFMANN on the 19th December 1857 at the Registry Office, Inverbrackie. He was registered as 29, and the son of Johann Gottfried BORMANN. Wilhelmina was registered as 20, and the daughter of Gottfried HOFFMANN.[7]
Carl Edward BORMANN passed away on the 22nd July 1907 at Milendella. He was registered as 79, married, and living in Milendella at the time of his death. The informant was his son Johann Friedrich.[8][9]
Carl Eduard Bormann leased 137 acres of land (section 61 in the Hundred of Finniss contained in Certificate of Title Volume 130 Folio 241) on the 8th May 1869 for five years. He renewed again on the 8th May 1874 and then finally bought the land on the 9th May 1879. His son Johann Friedrich Bormann had the land transferred into his name on the 11th July 1904. The land is near Milendella.

Kind regards, Chris.
I do not know much more. I have noticed that Malcolm McGrice has joined the party. Now he is someone that knows thousands of connected German profiles. He might not be as methodical as Graeme Moad. Nevertheless, it would be a good idea to keep him on-side.
