1920 Probate ^[5] has an Affidavit from son James (who did not live in Taranaki) that his father had died about 16 November 1914 and his mother had died 25 February 1920. There is also a statement that Alexander was born in Scotland but his son did not know what part and had lived at least 50 years in New Zealand
