Biography

Richard Boswell, son of John Boswell by Isabel Cresacre had Gunthwaite and other lands from his mother, who had married Henry Langton as her 2nd husband, and who had inheritedit from her grandfather. He died in 1501 and was buried at Beighton, Derbyshire.[1]

Richard Bosvile, 2d son, had Gunthwaite and other lands by gift of his mother; died 1501, and was buried at Beighton. married Jane, d. of sir Thomas Nevile, of Liversedge, knight. [2]

Hmm! Looks like there are conflicting sources. My interest lies with the Bosville line rather than the Neville connection, but maybe we need some other sources to sort this out.

Dugdale's (1899), construction makes his wife the dau. of Sir Robert Nevill of Liversedge, co. York and his second wife, Ellen Molyneux.

Smith's (1883), chart moves his wife up the tree and makes her a dau. of Sir Thos. Nevill & Alice Gascoigne.
