Research Notes
The SAG Families Register incorrectly lists his second marriage to Feijte (Sophia) van Rooyen on 26 April 1739. This marriage actually belongs to Jacobús (Bota) Botha (bef.1717-1784).[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacobus by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Deon Botha :
Y-Chromosome Test 13 markers, haplogroup R1b
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacobus:
Jacobus Botha passed away before 14 February 1800 not 1784. His wife passed away before 16 July 1782 when their combined will was shown at the Orphan Chamber. He then drew up a new will in 1794 which was presented at the Orphan Chamber on 14 February 1800.
Why is there so much conflation of details between Jacobus Botha and Jacobús Bota / Botha? Is there the possiblity that they are one and the same person? Why the same date of baptism, and Snijman as family? They do have different fathers; is there an explaination for this?
I have added Botha-7047 as son
I also added the male died young template to avoid future mistakes or erroneous merges
