Botha-2124 and Botha-2707 do not represent the same person because: They seem to be two different sisters, one having died in infancy / during childhood.

Here is a birth/baptism notice for Hester Catherina which supports GESLACHT-REGISTER statement that there was a daughter with this name born in 1788. They therefore had 2 daughters with the same name. The question is whether she married Potgieter or whether Hester Catherina born 1802 had 2 spouses

Hi Piet,

I think the issue has come in because this book GESLACHT-REGISTER den OUDE KAAPSCHE FAMILIEN Gecompileerd door Christoffel Coetsee de Villiers.Kaapstad :van de Sandt, de Villiers & Co, Beperkte Drukkers 1894 shows 2 daughters with same name -Hester Catharina., gedoopt 4 April 1786, zie B. Vivier -Hester Catharina, gedoopt 23 April 1802 This book is not always accurate. The death notice clearly shows that Hester born 1802 was married to Vivier Will continue investigating The other Hester Catharina Botha Potgieter. Only 1 Hester Catherina appears on Hester Rautenbach's probate

I removed Johannes Potgieter (Potgieter-1569) as spouse from this profile (Botha-2707). Please remove the children as well and place them under the the correct Hester Carolina Botha-3627. Edit: Done!

Phillip,

Will do this evening . I am going to change her birth date and add baptism citation when I am finished 04 Apr 1788

Jaulanne, they just have to be merged. The rest is already taken care of.
posted by Philip van der Walt
I rejected the merge because they are not the same person. They are 2 sisters with the same name born about 10 years apart
