Pieter Johannes Hendrik Botha traveled by wagon train from the Cape Colony, seeking independence of British rule.

Botha, Pieter Johannes Hendrik - a1b2c4d1e1f3 gedoop 30/3/1794 sterf in Delagoabaai, Mosambiek, 29/4/1838 aan koors. Woon aanvanklik op "Klipfontein" wyk Brakrivier, Somerset. Hy vertrek in die omgewing van September 1835 aanvanklik saam met die trek van Lang Hans van Rensburg maar skuif later na die trek van Louis Trichardt. Hy was die wamaker op die trek. In die dagboek van Trichardt word na hom verwys as "ou Botha" of Hendrik.[1]

I agree. I tried to find a death notice, but it may not have been done because he died in Delagoabaai. Back to the grindstone!
