Was surprised to see the notation that no information was available about Hendrika Botha. Hendrika Aletta Botha married Hugh Nourse at the first wedding performed in St. James Church in Greytown. They later settled in the Kokstad area on the farm Highthorne (I think). They had 11 children of whom 10 survived to adulthood. Their sons were Temple, Phillip Norman, Hugh Gordon, and Ogilvie who died in a hunting accident as a teenager.
She suffered from diabetes and eventually had both legs amputated. He outlived her by many years, passing away in 1936.
Yes indeed Kokstad was in the Cape Colony, what is today known as the Eastern Cape Most famous for the leader Adam Kok.
Please note South Africa are omitted from historical correct place names
I made the correction but thought I will take the time to add the link to the place name page we created for you convenience. Hughen Place Names
