For several years Samuel Bott farmed at Hay Valley, and upon relinquishing farming, carted copper from the Callington mine to the Native Valley smelters.

May 18th, 1904 Mrs. S. Bott, an old resident of Callington, in her 83rd year died last Sunday at the residence of her daughter.

December 27th 1904 Mr Samuel Bott in his 89th year died. The deceased left a family of six children.

Mr Samuel Bott was Interred alongside his wife at the Callington Cemetery, Mont Barker, South Australia Plot 56.
