Johann Bott was a Volga German.
Johann Bott has German Roots.

Peter was a grain farmer. He married Maria Elisabeth in Hesse about 1757 before emigrating to Norka. They travelled from Lübeck to the port of Oranienbaum aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev, arriving on 9 September 1766.[1] Found on Kulberg transport list as "Bott Peter, Ref., farmer from Hessen, doc. No. 4988, wife: Maria Elisabeth, children: Peter, 5, Johann Adam, 2.5, Anna Eva, 4 weeks."[2] 49 y/o Peter arrived in Norka on 15 Aug 1767 with 33 y/o wife Maria Elisabeth and children, 7 y/o Peter and 1.5 y/o Anna Eva.[3] Like almost all Norkans, he was a member of the Reformed faith.
