Bernard Boucher was born on 20 Aug 1744 and baptized the following day in Saint-Étienne parish of Beaumont, Canada, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Pascal Boucher and Geneviève Vermet. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Jean Gontier and Marie Joseph Paquet. The officiating priest was J. Chasle.[1]

Bernard Boucher married Marie Anne Allaire, daughter of Joseph Allaire and Marie Charlotte Renaud, on 24 Aug 1772 in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, Province of Québec. In the presence of known witnesses Jean Bouche, Jean Baptiste Nado, Joseph Allaire, and Louis Allaire. Both of the groom's parents were deceased at the time of the wedding.
