Eugène Boudin was one of the first French landscape painters to paint landscapes en plein air. He had a profound influence on later Impressionist painters, especially on Monet.

Louis Eugêne Boudin was born on 12 July 1824 in Honfleur. He was the son of Léonard Sebastien Boudin and Marie Félicité Buffet.[1] He married Marie Anne Guédès on 14 January 1863 in Le Havre.[2]
