Biography

Joseph Boudrot is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 10-Left L'Amitie, Listed with him is his wife margueritte Richard, four of their children: Jean Charles, Joseph, Marie Marthe and Sophie; and Marie Hebert sa mineure (his ward). [1]

Jean Joseph was born in 23 Jul 1776 to Joseph Boudrot and Marguerite Richard and was baptized that same evening (record says he was born this night) at the parish of Saint-Martin.[2]

His family arrived in New Orleans aboard L'Amitie on 20 Aug 1785.[3] They were listed as follows:

Marguerite RICHARD, wife - 40
Jean Charles BOUDROT, son, sailor - 18
Joseph BOUDROT, son - 9
Marie Marthe BOUDROT, daughter - 20
Sophie BOUDROT, daughter - 3

Joseph married Eulalia Dugas on 28 Jun 1803 at the Church of the Assumption in present-day Plattenville, Louisiana.[4][5]

Joseph was buried 3 Oct 1821.[6]
