Seraphine, last name unknown, was probably born about 1780 in Louisiana. She married Georges Bougere by about 1795, based on the birth record of her granddaughter in 1813.[1]
She appeared on the census of 15 December 1850 in the home of her son-in-law, Francois Frilot and her daughter Rose, at St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. While the 1850 census has her age at 65, it seems more likely that she was closer to 70.[2]
