Some who have researched this family include a daughter named Ann citing the 1851 Census of Canada as the source of this information. I does look like there is a daughter named Ann born in 1848, however Alem is not included on that Census (he was also born in 1848). Alem is included in subsequent census' but Ann is not on any record after the 1851 census. I have concluded that Ann and Alem are one and the same and that Ann is the result of an inaccurate gender allocation and poor penmanship and spelling on the 1851 census.[1]
Alem never married and spent his life as a farm laborer.
Alem Boughner was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 22 May 1910 at Corinth, Elgin, Ontario, Canada, by C. E. Pearson. He was confirmed by R. C. Longhurst, C. E. Pearson, and W. Jenkins. He attended the Corinth, Ontario Branch.[2]
