Biography

Véronique was a minor when she married, her parents married in November 1788.^[1]

Véronique Bourassa widower of François Houle died on January 10, 1880 at 86 years old and was buried 3 days later at Sainte-Anne-d'Yamachiche parish. Present were at the funeral her two sons Jean Baptiste Houle and Michel Houle who said they did not know how to sign.^[2]

Notes

originally had the birthdate as after 1788 (the year of her parents' mariage). Born in wedlock, the early date of nine months places her birth date at Aug, 1789.This would have made her about 19 years old at marriage, while still allowing the births of her brothers in 1790, 1791 and 1795. Her mother, Veronique Rivard died on 16 July 1795, at age 32, two weeks after giving birth to last son, Joseph.

Another possible date for the birth of Veronique Bourassa, could be about Aug 1792 (her brother Frs, born Oct 1791). She would have been just 16 years at marriage. While this is indeed possible, it is still a bit young.

I will place her estimated birthdate at Aug 1789.
