Biography

William was born in about 1559, the son of Ralph Bourchier and Elizabeth Hall.[1][2]

William was admitted to Gray's Inn in 1579.[2]

William was 25 in 1584.[2]

He married Katherine Barrington, daughter of Sir Thomas Barrington of Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex.[2] The History of Parliament Online biography of his father gives the marriage date as about 1588.[3]

He was declared a lunatic before his death,[3] and placed in the custody of his brother-in-law. He died before 16 June 1601, when there is a reference to his brother John seeking to safeguard the estate for his heir and fearing the outcome if William's brother-in-law "have too absolute power in disposing of the estate."[4]

Ralph Bourchier, married (1st) 3 Feb. 1556/7 Elizabeth Hall, daughter of Francis Hall, by Ursula, daughter of Thomas Sherington. They had two sons, William, and John, and four daughters, Ursula (wife of Richard Molyneux, and Richard Trewe), Bridget, Lucy, and Katherine (wife of Richard Mauleverer). He married (2nd) 29 Nov. 1577 Christian Shakerley; he married (3rd) Anne Coote. Sir Ralph Bourchier died 11 June 1598.

Bourchier-321 and Bourchier-205 appear to represent the same person because: I just completed a merge of duplicate profiles for his wife Katherine Barrington. These duplicate profiles should also be merged. Thanks!
