Biography

European Aristocracy
Eleanor Bourchier was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Eleanor married John Mowbray, who was a ward of her mother's, by 1424, when they were both children. A dispensation for them to stay married was dated 9 March 1433/4.[1][2][3]

In July 1437 she was summoned to attend the funeral in Canterbury Cathedral of Joan of Navarre, widow of Henry IV.[2]

In 1470 she made a presentation to the living of the church at Westwick, Norfolk.[2]

She died in 1474 and was buried at Thetford, Norfolk.[1][2]

Research Notes

One or two poorly evidenced online sources[4] give Anne as her forename with Eleanor as alternate. Douglas Richardson, Cokayne's Complete Peerage and other sources state the forename was Eleanor.

Bourchier-125 and Bourchier-48 appear to represent the same person because: Self-evident duplicates

I have removed John, Mowbray-37 as her husband: it was his son, John, Mowbray-293, whom she married.

There is no evidence for Anne as a daughter of William Bourchier in Douglas Richardson's works or any standard sources for the prominent Bourchier family. The profile is effectively unsourced. Anne of Gloucester had a daughter Anne Stafford by her second marriage. But the daughter of William Bourchier who died in 1474 was Eleanor Bourchier who married John Mowbray, and some online sources give Anne as Eleanor's alternate name - see eg encyclopaedia.com. I propose to change the forename to Eleanor and then suggest a merge with Eleanor Bourchier, adding a research note about Anne being shown on some sites as her forename.

If merger with her half sister is rejected, then that returns of the question of whether this person exists in any good source

This daughter does not appear in Richardson's Royal Ancestry, although her family is well-known. Anyone know any sources? She has a half sister named Anne Stafford so could that be a source of confusion?

Looks like she should be corrected and merged with her sister.

Need one of two husbands removed, please.
Eleanor (Bourchier-48), (1417-1474), is posted as married to both John (Mowbray-293), (1417-1474) and John (Mowbray-37), (1398-1432).
