Biography

Pierre Bourdain, Born near Bordeaux in France about 1905, was the son of Aurélien Bourdain and Mathilde Belliard[1]. He emigrated about 1919, after he was adopted by American soldier, Arthur H. Murphy. Murphy's unit was billeted in France during World War I at the farm owned by the Bourdain family.[2][3] [4]

He married Gabrielle Riousse, also French-born, in 1928 in New York[1].

Research notes

His mother Mathilde (or Marie?) Belliard may have been the daughter of Martin Belliard and Marguerite Gouilleau.
