Biography

This profile is part of the Bourque Name Study.

Marie Bourg was born about 1774 in Bonaventure, Province of Québec, daughter of Joseph Bourg and Catherine Comeau.[1]

Marie (17) married Michel Pierre Guignard (34) (born in Kamouraska PQ) on Jan 23, 1792 in Bonaventure, Bas-Canada.[2]

Their known children were:

  1. Victoire Guignard (1793 – 1874)
  2. Pierre Michel Guignard (Jan 20 1793 – unknown)
  3. Esther Guignard (about Jul 1 1798 – about Jan 12 1863)
  4. Ruffin Guignard (Apr 6 1814 – Apr 19 1896)

Marie died on Oct 9, 1829, aged about 54. [citation needed]

On 1 Feb 1836 Rupin (or Rufin) Guinard, fisherman, son of the late Michel Guinard and of Marie Bourck, was married to Magdeleine Grenier. Marie Bourck is listed as being resident of Grand Chipagan[3]

Research Notes

Her birth is still unconfirmed, no date given by PRDH, but her parents were identified as these. Her death is also unconfirmed (not in Quebec) and her spouse died in New Brunswick (no records found for her between 1820 and 1850 at the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick.
