Rosalie Bourg was born 27 Jan 1740. She was the daughter of François Bourg and Marie Belliveau. She was baptized 25 Feb 1740 at Beaubassin. Her godparents were Pierre Sire and Marie Richard.[1][2][3]
François and Rosalie Bourg were on a list of prisoners at Rivière Saint-Jean, Acadie, dated 12 August 1763. No children were listed but there was a third unnamed person with them.[4]
The marriage between the Acadiens Rosalie Bourg and François Bergeron (Bergeron dit Nantes) was renewed on 6 Aug 1764 in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière in the presence of François Bourg, father, Pierre Bourg, Jean Bourg, François Bourg, brothers of the wife and Sr Lausier capt. friend of the husband and several others. [5]. [6][7]
Rosalie Bourg, wife of Nantes Bergeron of Ste-Marguerite, died 27 Feb 1778 at the stated age of about thirty-three and was buried in the cemetery of Nativité-de-Notre-Dame-de-Bécancour along with the infant Doucet. [8]
Research Notes
Marguerite is the name listed on the burial record. There was a Marguerite Bourg who was married to Pierre Bergeron and living in Bécancour at that time, however she didn’t die until 1815 in Saint-Gregoire at the age of ninety. Rosalie’s husband was François Bergeron dit Nantes, Rosalie was about the right age as the woman in the record, she died sometime between the birth of her son Joseph Bergeron in 1776 and before her husband’s second marriage in 1783 and the family was living in Bécancour at that time. This is Rosalie’s burial record, the name Marguerite is an error.
Why would she have been buried with the Infant Doucet?(Bourque-573 20:41, 26 January 2022 (UTC))
