The baptism record transcribed in Heritage Canadiana has "Marguerite" in the margin, but "Magdeleine" in the text of the record. The correct name is Madeleine. She is not to be confused with Marguerite Bourg, daughter of parents with similar names. [3]

Marguerite Bourg was born 2 December 1744 in Grand Pré, Acadie, Colonie de Nouvelle Écosse. She was the daughter of Alexandre Bourg and Marie Marguerite Hébert. She was baptized 4 June 1745 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. Her godparents were Olivier Hebert and Marguerite Leblanc.
