Biography

Madeleine Bourg was born around 1738 in Acadie. ^[1] She was the daughter of Jean- Bourg and Marie Thériot. ^[2]

Madeleine Bourg wed Pierre Babin on February 22, 1759. ^{[2] [3]}

They settled in Menoudie and had the following children: ^[4]

1. Marie Babin born (recorded in the civil register of Franklin Manor) October 29, 1761; wed about 1781 to Paul LEBLANC, the son of Joseph & Marie Doiron; died in Barachois September 1, 1817.
2. Marie-Madeleine, born (Franklin Manor) on September 29,1764; wed at Restigouche Franklin Manor on May 15, 1787 to François-Henri LÉGER, the son of Joseph & Claire LeBlanc.
3. Anne-Rosalie, born (Franklin Manor) on January 10, 1767; wed (1) wed Dominique-Pierre MELANSON, the son of Pierre & Marie-Josephe Granger at Restigouche Franklin Manor on November 8, 1783 and (2) wed Marin Gallant, the son of François-Sylvestre & Marie Poirier and widower of Rose-Marguerite Hache in Memramcook on July 25, 1826; died November 28, 1827 in Grande-Digue.
4. Anne, born (Franklin Manor) on April 22, 1770; wed about 1793 to Pierre GAUTREAU, the son of Paul & Anne Belliveau; died September 17, 1864 in Pre-d'en-Haut.
5. Anne, born in Baie-Ste-Marie on April 3, 1773.
6. Pierre, born (Franklin Manor) on February 22, 1775; wed about 1795 to Henriette MELANSON, the daughter of Jean & Modeste Forest.

She died in 1790 in Kings, Nova Scotia, at the age of 52. ^{[citation needed]}
