Biography

JOSEPH BOURGEOIS is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 2 Left. Listed with him is his wife, Marie Girouard, their child Marie, and Joseph's two brothers, Michel Bourgeois and Pierre Bourgeois.^[1]

Michel Bourgeois was born about 1741 in Acadia. He was a son of Paul Bourgeois and Marie Josèphe Brun.

He married Anne Osite Landry on 2 May 1768 in Cabahannocer, St. James, Louisiana, New Spain.^[2][3]

They had the following known children:
