Discussion

"It is not possible that the mother of the children of Germain Doucet was a sister of the wife of Jacques Bourgois as certain authors pretended, given that his parents-in-law did not marry until 1627. There exists nevertheless, the possibility that Germain Doucet married in a second marriage to a daughter of Guillaume Trahan who gave him no surviving child, but it is also possible that his second wife is the sister of Jacques Bourgeois and not the sister of his wife ."[1]

DOUCET #1 spouse #2. Germain DOUCET has two spouses listed, the 2nd one married around 1654, no known children traced. The note states the 2nd wife is perhaps the daughter of Guillaume TRAHAN, or the sister of Jacques BOURGEOIS.

Girouard-1899 and Bourgeois-9 do not represent the same person because: They are not the same person.

Grandjehan-3 and Bourgeois-9 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these people, Marguerite Bourgeois and Nicolas Grandjehan are the same as Marguerite Grandjehan and Nicolas Bourgeois, but the family names were interverted. The real people are Marguerite Bourgeois and Nicolas Grandjehan. Marguerite Grandjehan and Nicolas Bourgeois did not exist.

The parents attached to Nicolas Bourgeois are wrong and should be disconnected. Duplicates exist for said parents (I think they originally had a child attached, but I don't remember who).

Hi Cindy, please see Isabelle's post below yours. The profile is being protected by us due to frequent issues with Acadian descendants.

Jackie, does it seem realistic she was an Acadian? It doesn't appear that any events occurred in Acadie. If she was the second wife of Doucet then she didn't have this marriage or these children. The spouse she supposedly is married to, Grandjehan, also didn't come to Acadie.

Though the information around this profile and attached family members is far from satisfactory, I strongly recommend retaining project protection. Marguerite has been much abused.
note that this profile will need to be PPP before merging with Doucet-146 (Doucet has an incorrect last name and unsourced, probably bogus parents attached).
I am removing Jean Grandin-17 as a spouse for Marguerite. No source was provided for this marriage.

Bourgeois-675 and Bourgeois-9 appear to represent the same person because: uplicate profiles found in merge proposal

Same name, spouse, child

all are duplicates need merging

have removed wrong parents and also palce of death, Montreal did not exist as even a colony in 1620

This lady is impossible for the following reasons:

Her supposed daughter is said to be born in 1584, and her in 1580. NOT!

Her father and mother are parents of Bourgeois children, NOT Grandjehan/Grandjean children, she should be detached from those parents. She married a Bourgeois, but wasn't daughter to one.

Where does the data come from that she died in Montréal in 1620? Montréal was founded in 1642.

Please make appropriate corrections and add true sources to the profile (Ancestry trees is not an actual source, since it's a collection of trees)

Bourgeois-156 and Bourgeois-9 appear to represent the same person because: same name, Bourgeois-156 has no other data at all, no ties to anyone,
