1 September 1885, he obtains scholarship award to study bachelor es history in the University of Paris.
In 23 June 1892 he participed, at the Aggregation of lycéum exam (History and Geography)
the 22 July 1892, he sit the Oral Aggregation of history at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Charles is appointed student teacher the 20 October 1885 in the Lycée Henry IV of Paris. The 10 may 1887, he is named History Teacher at the Lycée of Compiegne. The 21 January 1889, he was History Teacher at the secondary school of Autun. The 23 Septembre 1891 he is named History Teacher in The secondary school of Lesneven (Brittany of France). He is named Professor at the Lycée d'Evreux (Normandy). The 6th september 1893 he is named The qualified teacher of high schools (History and Geography), then Teacher in the Lycée de Rennes on 31 October 1894.
