Biography

Catherine was born about 1725 and passed away about 1792.

Catherine was born in Mörfelden, Groß-Gerau, Hessen, Germany.[1] She was the daughter of Nichlaus Bourgey.[1]

Catharina Barbara Bourgey, daughter of Niclaus Bourgey, married Andreas Boudemont, son of Philipp Boudement, in 1747 in Rohrbach, Bergzabern, Pfalz, Bayern, Deutschland.[2]

Catherine passed away about October 1792 in Washington County, Maryland, United States.[3]

Research Notes

  • In 1783, the Washington County Tax Assessment showed "Upper Antietam Hundred, Catherine Putnam, "Rock Hill", 96 acres woods, 10 acres meadows, 40 acres arable, 8 beef cattle." Catherine's estate was called Rock Hill in the tax assessment. Her property is actually part of the Resurvey of Root's Hill.
  • Died: OCT 1792; Washington county, Maryland.
  • BURIAL: The fence and tombstones were removed from the family cemetery in the mid-1800's and the cemetery was plowed under.
  • Kefauver's Apple Orchard, Eakles Mills, Washington County, Maryland Memorial #99580051

DEATH: The Quitclaim deed which Andrew Putman's heirs signed on 16 November 1792, did not include the signature of Catherine, Andrew's widow. She would have had to sign the claim, since she was entitled to 1/3 of the estate. Catherine probably died in October 1792.

Bourghey-3 and Bourgey-2 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly the same individual; name appears as "Bourgey" in a transcription of the register of her marriage to Andreas Boudemont, see https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JHJB-PXV
