Patrick Bourke was born in about 1849 in Ballina, Mayo, Ireland. He may have been the son of Cecilia Bourke; if so, by 1871 they were living in Bilston, Staffordshire, and Patrick was a journeyman plasterer.[1]
Patrick married Ann Highcock in 1879, in a registrar-attended ceremony in Bolton district.
By April 3rd 1881, Patrick and Ann were living at 45 Castle Hill Road, Hindley, Lancashire. Patrick was employed as a house plasterer. They had two young Irishmen lodging with them.
Their son William Bourke was born on 30 Jan 1882 in Chicago, Illinois. His mother's maiden name seems to have been recorded with two alternatives, Barr or Highcock, but it wasn't registered till 1943.[2][3]
Their daughter Mary Bourke was born in July 1884 in Illinois.
Patrick died on 13 Apr 1885 in Chicago. He was probably buried in Calvary Cemetery.[4]
Patrick and Ann's daughter Annie Bourke was born in November 1885 in Illinois.

↑ According to the county death records as transcribed on FamilySearch, he was to be buried in Calvary Cemetery. However when I requested a photo of the grave on FindAGrave, the volunteer who looked into it reported "Cemetery office has no record of this person." So either the choice of cemetery was changed after the death record was made and it wasn't altered, or the cemetery records are faulty, or there has been human error in the process of searching the records. They had also tried under the spelling Bourke.
