Biography

John was born in 1859[1] and worked as a blacksmith. He married in 1878[2]. John travelled to the United States twice. On the second occasion, soon after the birth of his last child in 1900[3], he travelled with his son Thomas[4], and they worked in Pittsburg, Ohio, before returning home. He was recorded in the 1911 census[5] and died in 1937[6]. His direct descendant, Ger Bur, has Autosomal DNA on Gedmatch CY4604360 and also Y-DNA on FTDNA. He has a match with James Edmond Burke II (origin West Clare) who has a terminal SNP. Further testing might reveal the Burke origins.
