Josephine was born about 1843. She is the daughter of Francis Bourque and Elmire Champoux.
An 1861 Census of Canada West, township of Grattan, County of Renfrew, Enumeration District 12, shows Francis Burk (Farmer) age 50 with his wife Elmire age 38 and children; Josephine 19 (b. 1842), Elmira, 17 (b. 1844), Louisa,15 (b. 1846), Lenox? 13 (b. 1848). [1]
Josephine Bourke married John Baptiste Vanier (mispelled Vignes in some records) on 7 Apr 1863 in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. Josephine's parents were Francis Bourke and Elmire Champoux. The parents of the groom were Eliza Charbonneau and John Baptiste Vignes or Vanier[2]
