Biography

European Aristocracy
Frances Bourke was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Frances was born in 1847. She was the daughter of Reverend Sackville Bourke and Georgiana Ponsonby.

She was baptised on 18 April 1847 at Hatherop, Gloucestershire[1].

Frances lived with her parents and siblings at Hatherop, Gloucestershire where his father was Rector.

Her brother Ernest died in 1859 at the age of about 8. The following year her other brother Henry died on 18 January 1860 at the age of 16, and her father died soon after on 30 January 1860, at the age of 54.

Sadly her mother passed away on 25 June 1861 at the age of about 53.

In the UK Census of 1871 Frances (aged 24 and single) was recorded living at The Rectory, Middleton Stoney, Bicester, Oxfordshire, England, where her brother Cecil (aged 29) was Rector. Also in the household was her unmarried sister Lucy (26), as well as five servants.

Her brother Cecil went on to become Vicar at St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire in 1874. In the UK Census of 1881 Frances (34), her brother Cecil (aged 39) and sister Lucy (36) were recorded living at St. Giles Vicarage. Also in the household were two visitors and four servants.

She passed away in 1883 at the age of about 36, unmarried[2]. Her will was proved on 2 July 1892 at London to the Reverend Cecil Frederick Joseph Bourke, clerk[3]. Effects: £1363 12s. 9d.
