Elizabeth was born on April 8, 1834 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of George Bourne, merchant sailor and Joanna Pletchly, his wife. Elizabeth entered into a marriage contract with Mathew Hamilton Gault on May 24, 1854 at Montreal, Quebec. She passed away on April 11, 1908, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and is buried at the Mount Royal Cemetery, in Montreal.
