Biography

Joseph was born in 1884. He died in 1918 at the age of 34.

Parents: Pvt. Joseph Wimberly Bourne I 1843 - 1911 and Irene Florence (Battle) Bourne 1861 - 1934. Joseph served with honor in Company G, 49th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, Confederate States of America. He was wounded in action at Farmington, Tennessee & a POW, captured twice. The first time he was captured at Ft. Donelson. He later joined Woodard's 2nd Kentucky Cavalry and served until the end of the war.
