John Bourne was born in Staffordshire, England.

Biography

John was born in 1840 in the Kingswinford area of Staffordshire, England. He was the son of John Bourne, an organist and teacher of music, and Mary Haynes. He was christened John Haynes Bourne on 7 Jun 1840 in Kingswinford.

He married Emma Cox, daughter of Cornelius Cox (grocer) and Eleanor nee Worsey, on 9 February 1869 in Penkridge, Staffordshire. Like his father, John was an organist and teacher of music. He and Emma settled in the village of Tillington near Stafford. In several censuses, John was described as a Professor of Music.

He passed away in 1919 in the Stafford area.

Research Note

John's "official" name as recorded by the General Register Office is simply John Bourne (GRO Reference: 1840 J Quarter in STOURBRIDGE UNION Volume 18 Page 454). His biography is incomplete.
