Daniel Bourne was born in 1810 in Woodchurch in the farming county of Kent in England. Upon reaching adulthood he immigrated along with his brothers to America. [1][2]They disembarked in New York, New York May 8, 1835. .[3][4]

This record shows Daniel arrived in New York in 1835 according to National Archives passenger lists on the ship Montreal.[5] According to GLO, Texas land bounty archives, who interview all applicants to verify authenticity has records of one brother who related they immigrated in 1823. More needs to be found..
When next we find Daniel, he was in Gonzales Colony at the age of 26, settling and receiving a land grant as a single man in DeWitt's Colony. [1] See GLO record
Service in Siege of Bexar: Daniel joined the Texas army. He was assigned to Capt. T.F.L. Parrot's artillery company (copy of list on GLO.) [6]during the siege of Bexar in Dec., 1835. [7]Daniel stayed in Bexar colony in the early months of January 1836, where he was attached to the Artillery company of Capt William R. Carey in the garrison of the Alamo.. Although Daniel was living in Dewitt's Colony, Gonzales, he did not arrive with the Immortal 32. He was already there in the Alamo as garrison member.!![6]
Santa Anna arrived with the Mexican army Feb. 23, 1836, surrounded the Alamo and started the Siege. Daniel Bourne was killed in the Battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836 along with all of the Alamo Defenders. .
