Biography

Marie Anne Bouton was born March 25, 1754 and baptized the next day at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan, LA.[4] The Jean Baptiste Montpierre is not her grandmother's second husband (he died in 1752) but is instead his son, Jean Baptiste Montpierre, Jr..

Marie Bouton wed Joseph Gallien on January 9, 1770 at St. Francis of Pointe Coupee in New Roads, Louisiana.[5]

Their last known child was born in late 1783 when she was only 29 years of age. I have found no record after that and the Diocese of Lafayette was unable to find a record when it searched.[6] However, she may have remarried as when Antoine Anselin died he was noted to be married to Marie Bouton, widow of ---- .[7]
