Biography

David was born^[1][2]on 2 February 1905 to Rhys Bowen and Jane Protheroe in the registrtion district of Llanelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales, United Kingdom.

The April 1911 census^[3]shows David, with his father Rhys Bowen, a Tinplate Assorter at the Old Castle Tin Plate Works and self employed Grocer, mother Jane Protheroe, brother Glyn Bowen, a Chemist's Apprentice and sister Margaret Tucker, living in Sandy Terrace, Pembrey Road, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire.

His father, Rhys Bowen passed away^[4]at his home in Sandy Terrace, Pembrey Road, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire aged sixty five on 26 April 1928.
Harold was a Chief Mourner at the funeral and graveside service, which was held on 1 May 1928 before he was buried in the Box Cemetery now known as Llanelly District Cemetery, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire. A floral tribute was left by himself.

The September 1939 register^[5]shows David, with his mother Jane Protheroe, sister Margaret Tucker and niece Marjorie Rees, a Shop Assistant in the Haberdashery Department at Woolworth, living in Pembrey Road, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire. David worked as a General Labourer.

His mother Jane Bowen passed away^[6]aged eighty one on 13 December 1946 in her own home in Pembrey Road, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire.

David passed away aged^[7]fifty eight on 11 March 1963 at home in Pembrey Road, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire and was buried a few days later^[8] in Llanelly, District Cemetery, Llanelly.
His probate^[9]was administered just under four months later on 2 July 1963 in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire detailing effects of £755 15s 0d to his sister and widow Margaret Tucker.
