Tom Bowen was one of seven siblings born in Shireoaks, Notts. England to James and Sarah Bowen. Tom arrived in New York on January 9th, 1904 n the vessel, "Celtic" and settled in Chester, West Virginia, where he lived for the rest of his life.
Tom and his younger brother, George who arrived in New York on June 29th, 1906 on the vessel, "Cearmania" formally declared their intention for US naturalization on May 29th, 1916. On this declaration, Tom wrote in that he was working as a baker and had married Jessie N. Bowen, a US citizen, born in Carrollton, Ohio.
