Mrs. Washburn Dies From Heart Attack
Mrs. Mary Margaret Washburn, 65, widow of Dr. Will W. Washburn, died of a heart attack at 12:45 p.m. Thursday in her home, 918 Rochester St.
Mrs. Washburn, prior to her marriage in 1946, was women's page editor of the Lafayette Journal and Courier.
Dr. Washburn was urologist at Arnett Clinic until his death in 1956.
Mrs. Washburn was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She was a lay board member of St. Elizabeth Hospital and for seven years was president of St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a member of Home Hospital Auxiliary and Wabash Valley Hospital Auxiliary; Medical Auxiliary of Tippecanoe County Medical Association; Delta Theta Tau Alumni Association, and Social Service Club.
She was born in this city and resided here all her life.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Ann Bowen, who made her home with her sister, and a brother, Charles S. Bowen of San Antonio, Tex.
