The precise identity of this individual is as of now a bit of a mystery. I had initially thought that this was the same Myrtle Bowen that appears in 1910 in nearby Plymouth, Washington County, daughter of Henry and Connie Bowen. The age is right and the location isn't far off. Given that Myrtle's mother appears to have passed away in 1915, it seemed possible that she may have gone to stay with or been adopted by the Davenports in 1920. Nonetheless that Myrtle appears in 1920 still living with her father, according to the 1920 Census. It's not impossible that they could be one in the same as I've encountered census duplicates before, but it would seem extremely unlikely in this case.
That leaves me with only the 1920 census to go on (see transcription below).
Year: 1920; Census Place: Oak City, Martin, North Carolina; Roll: T625_1290; Page: 1B; Enumeration District: 26
