DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Margery by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Margery:
I mean when I do a search on Familysearch.org for "records" using the data from her profile nothing at all comes up. [Using Rootsearch]. Just a few unrelated "Kelly" records. I don't rely on trees as they are usually not, or poorly, sourced. I tried the link for the Arnold source and it goes to a paid site I don't have access to. I was able to find the Arnold sources for RI in archive.org but page 73 of volume 6 brings me to Bristol County Marriages in the "S" surnames, not to births.
The only reason I'm looking at data for these profiles is I am trying to resolve two different Patricia Bowens that may or may not be duplicates. They have similar data but different parents. Therefore trying to investigate this family and validate the parents of the children.
My point is only that if the data is accurate I would think a state record (birth, death or marriage) could be found. Thanks for the reply.
Trees sometimes do not have sources, but the profile I linked includes 28 sources, including several for the marriage of John and Margery in 1739. Two of them were indexed as "Killey". Perhaps that is the problem? And it was indexed as happening in Swansea, rather than Barrington. Both of those towns were part of Massachusetts at the time, and Swansea still is, so perhaps the Rootsearch is getting confused about the state?
Another record can be found by searching FamilySearch for "Healey", since someone went and indexed Arnold's works and included them in the Rhode Island Marriages database, and Arnold had mistranscribed the groom's name.
with Hannah as the first entry on the left. The other children, chronologically, are on pages 31, 55, 24, 40, 49, 35, 50, and 24, in that order.
Have you consulted William Saxbe's extensive genealogy of the Bowen family? If there were multiple Patricia Bowens, he probably has the documentation to sort them out. He is an FASG and this work is very well researched. But he only did the first 5 generations from Richard Bowen, so it might not go down far enough. And the 4th and 5th generations are not freely accessible, but it may be possible to get a copy of a few pages.

I just never link tertiary sources like those when the secondary or primary sources they cite are freely available instead.
