Julius Bowen was born on 31 March 1867 @ 3 Elgin Villas, Angell Town, Brixton (then part of Surrey), a son of Jane (née Small) and Owen Bowen. Their choice of his first name, Julius, may have been influenced by the ancestral surname Julis (sic), which other relatives had as a second given name. Two of Julius's other given names, Madoc and Llewelyn, may refer to a 13th century Welsh noble, Madog ap Llywelyn (from Meirionnydd/Merioneth) who led a rebellion against English rule.
28 Oct 1889 – Julius arrived Sydney, New South Wales on Ormuz.[1]
1897 [23 Feb] – marriage of "Julius Kenneth Llewe [sic] Bowen" and "Florence White" @ Fremantle, WA.[2]
He died in 1957 [16 June] in Perth, Western Australia,[3] at the age of 90.
His wife, Florence survived him, living to the age of 105.
