An original tin type photograph of Abigail Edgerton was provided by Mrs. Amy Strofoleno from a relative residing in Ohio {13890 James Drive, Novelty, Ohio} (6/95, B. Edgerton).
[1860 Census, East Dorset, Bennington Co., Vermont] Abigail Edgerton is listed simply "widow", age 61 (?), real estate $700, personal property $30, born in "Mafs". Her children Peleg (25), Bradford (21), Verona (39), Charlie (19), and Mary (17) are living with her. [BGE, 4/98]
DEATH: Dunwiddie lists death date of 15 Mar 1872. The gravestone date of 16 Mar 1872 in the private cemetery of Freedleyville, Vermont is considered most likely correct. (Edgerton, 3/95)
BIRTH: 1800 census, Windsor, Berkshire Co., Mass. lists a Peleg Bowen: M1/1791-1800, M2/1756-1774, F1,2,3/1791-1800, F4/1756-1774. [BGE, 01/04]

Hi Brian,
Thank you so much for your response. I don't know if you have looked at the book "Descendants of John Irish". I purchased a copy from Higginson Book Co. The David Irish I refer to is on pg. 133, William and Alfred Irish on pg.134. I found your David Irish on pg.281 which would connect our families with John Irish the 2nd.born in 1641, Rhode Island.
I would be more than glad to share any information I have with you.
Sincerely Diane

Hi Diane,
My ggg-grandfather Benjamin Irish Jr. had an older brother, David Irish, born 25 Feb 1794 near Hinesburg, Chittenden Co., VT. This David married Leonora Lyon on 21 February 1833. This appears to be the nearest match to your David, father of William Irish of Ft. Ann, NY (perhaps through an earlier marriage?). I have several other David Irish in my database - but not reasonable matches. Can you provide a little more ancestry data on your William Irish to see where we connect and perhaps share some earlier ancestral information. I do have a good amount of information on my earlier Irish lines out of Rhode Island into NY and VT. I expect we do connect at some point.
Thanks for you inquiry. Looking forward to your response.
All the Best,
Brian Edgerton, Idaho Falls, ID

Hello Brian, I'm trying to find marriage record of William Irish and Henrietta Phleps. Married in Kingsberry about 1842. They moved to Michigan from Fort Ann, New York. William was the son of David Irish, Henrietta the daughter of Reuben Phelps.
Also trying to locate birth records for my Grandfather Alfred Irish (William's son) born 1862.
I would be more than glad to share any information I might have.
Sincerely, Diane (Irish) Ward
