Biography
- Note: William Bowers Jr. was tax collector of Hart County during the years of
- 1864-65. He was also at one time a member of the inferior court of Hart Co.,
- by reason of which service he derived the title ofjudge. He lived at Eagle
- Grove, and kept the post office of that name, which was on the star route from
- Ruckersville, prehaps later from Elberton to Carnesville. The mail route was
- along, according to traditiion, what was originally an Indian trail. - History
- of Hart County, Baker. Is listed in 1850 census of Elbert Co, p. 438B.
