Biography

Irvin Leroy 'Roy' Bowers, 87, Montgomery, OH, former Rocky Comfort, MO resident, died on Sat., Feb. 24, 2007 at his residence, following two months of ill health. He was born July 7, 1919 in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, the son of Irvin G. Bowers and Flossie Mae (Carey) Bowers. Following his high school graduation, he moved to California and served in the Army Air Force during WW II. He worked in management and as supervisor in various manufacturing companies and retired from the Litton Industry. He moved to Montgomery, Ohio from California in Jan. 2005. He married Vivian 'Vee' Schell on Oct. 31, 1937 in Missouri and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Richard Bowers and wife, Terri, Cincinnati; a daughter, Shelley Schweitzer and husband, Jack, Wheaton, ILL; five grandchildren, Blake Bowers and wife, Katherine; Evan Bowers and wife, Erin; Nola Bowers; Meredith Schweitzer and Andrew Schweitzer and two great grandchildren, Tyler Bowers and Morgan Bowers. He is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Bowers.
