Biography

Christian Stone Bowers was born the 26th of Jul 1821 in Pendleton, West Virginia. He was the son of John Bowers and Christina (Ruleman) Bowers. Christian married Amanda Jane Armentrout on the 23rd of June 1847 in Pendleton, West Virginia. He later married Amanda Elizabeth Jeffers on the 17th of July 1860 in Pendleton.

Christian passed away the 15th of January 1888 in Pendleton, West Virginia. He was laid to rest in the Bowers Cemetery in Pendleton.^[1]

2nd To my beloved wife Amanda E Bowers all my land for her natural life, then pass to sons Thomas P and James F Bowers. Also all of my household and kitchen furniture for her natural life, then to daughters Cartha E Renroad, Melena Kuich, Ida J Bird, and Octavia T Bowers.

3rd All my land to sons Thomas P & James F Bowers and that they take possession of land after death of their mother.

4th To my son Josephus Bowers $1

5th To my daughter Pheve C Propst $25

6th To the children of my daughter Ann E Kimble $25, divided between them

7th To the children of my daughter Cary S McCulty $25, divided between them

8th To my daughter Sarah M Nash $25

9th All the rest of my personal property sold at public sale and equally divided between my four daughters Martha, Melena, Ida, and Octavia.

Lastly Nominate and appoint friend Thomas J Bowman executor
