Biography

Martha C. Bowers was born on 4 May 1872 in Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Bowers and Mary Allen. We first find Martha living with her parents and siblings in Revielle, Logan County, Arkansas in 1880.^[1] Martha is 8 years old. Martha has three brothers and two sisters living in the home with her. They are James W. Bowers, 13 years old; John G. Bowers, 11 years old; Reddin L. Bowers, 9 years old; Lucinda C. Bowers, 5 years old and Cordelia Bowers, 3 years old. Martha's father is a Farmer. and her 13 year old brother James is working on the farm. On 7 Jan 1894 Martha C. Bowers married John C. Stafford in Logan County, Arkansas.^[2][3] In 1900 Martha is 28 years old and living with her husband John in Driggs, Logan County, Arkansas. John is working as a Farmer. John and Martha have a son Morrison M. Stafford, he is 3 years old. In 1910 Martha is 37 years old and John is 38 years old. Thir family is growing; Willie C. Stafford was born in 1901 and is 9 years old; Alma L. Stafford was born in 1905 and is 5 years old. Martha C. Stafford, John's sister, is living with them, she is 32 years old. On 24 Mar 1916 Martha C. (Bowers) Stafford passed away in Logan County, Arkansas. She was survived by her husband John and their children.^[4][5] Martha was 44 years old.
