She was the daughter of Asa and Sarah Elizabeth (Brown) Bowers.
She married George W. Gilbert and they had five known children.
(Her grave appears to be unmarked as no headstone has been found. Her death notice in the February 25, 1882 issue of The Hartwell Sun stated she was survived by her husband and five small children and that she was buried at Hendrys Church.) [1]
