Biography

Richard Walter Bowers, one of seven children to Robert Ernest Bowers and Catherine Schultz was born about 1912 in Johnstown Pennsylvania United States America.

During World War Two, Dick was stationed at Archerfield Aerodrome with his American unit.

Occupied as a permanent American Serviceman; who served during WWII and the Korean War before a discharge; allowing him to join his wife and two children in Australia. They had lived in Columbus Ohio from 1946 to 1953 before returning to Australia; where they awaited Dick's arrival.

Married Dulcie May Ascough an Australian in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on 23 September 1944 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Brisbane and she was one of the many American War Brides who returned to live in America.

He finally settled in Brisbane after his discharge; and obtained the position of Red Cross truck driver; in and around Brisbane.

Death occurred in Brisbane on 14 April 1978; cremated at Albany Creek, Brisbane on 14 April.
